அபோட், எடித் (1876-1957) - சிகாகோ பல்கலைக்கழத்தின் சமூகப் பணித் துறையின் தலைவியாகப் (Dean) பணியாற்றிய பேராசிரியை. சமூகப்பணி பற்றி பல தலைப்புகளில் முக்கியமான புத்தகங்கள் எழுதியவர். சமூக நீதிக்காகவும், குழந்தைகள் நலனுக்காகவும் பாடுபட்ட ஒரு முன்னோடி சமூகப்பணிக் கல்வியாளர். சமூகசேவை மதிப்பாய்வு (Social Service Review) என்ற இதழின் நிறுவனர். அமெரிக்க சமூகப் பாதுகாப்புச் சட்ட வரைவில் பங்கெடுத்தவர்.

(1876-1957) A pioneer in social work education and an advocate for social justice and child welfare programs. She was dean of the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago, 1924-1942, a founder of Social Service Review, and author of several seminal social work texts. She also helped draft the Social Security Act.
