குற்றம் நடப்பதற்கு முன் குற்றம் செய்வதற்கு உதவியாகத் திட்டமிடல், தூண்டிவிடல், அதற்கான சூழலை உருவாக்கிக் கொடுத்து அங்கிருந்து சென்றுவிடல் போன்ற செயல்களும், குற்றத்திற்குப்பின் குற்றத்தை மறைத்தல், குற்றவாளி கைதாக முடியாமல் மறைந்திருக்க உதவுதல் போன்ற செயல்களும் இதில் அடங்கும்.

One who assists, advises, or commands another to commit an offense. An "accessory after the fact" is one who conceals or otherwise helps an offender avoid arrest or trial. An “accessory before the fact” is one who aids in the commission of a crime but is not present at the time of the act.
