Age Discrimination in Employment Act. (ADEA) of 1967A U.S. federal law that prohibits employers with 20 or more employees from discriminating against people older than age 40. The law is enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and explicitly forbids age discrimination in hiring, discharge, pay, promotions, and other aspects of employment.
