வயது வந்த மாணவர்களெல்லாம், கற்றுக்கொள்வதில் பொறுப்புடமையுடனும், தன்னார்வத்துடனும், வாழ்க்கை அனுபவங்களைக் கற்றலுடன் இணைத்து புரிந்து கொள்ளக்கூடியவர்களாகவும் இருப்பார்கள் என்ற கருத்தாக்கம். இம்மாணவர்கள் தாங்கள் பெற்ற கல்வியால் தங்களின் சிக்கல் தீர்க்கும் திறன்கள் வளர்ந்திருப்பதை நடைமுறைப் பிரயோகத்தில் உணரும்போது அவர்களுடைய கற்றல் பயனுள்ளதாக ஆகிறது. இந்த மாதிரியான சிக்கல் தீர்க்கும் திறனை வளர்க்கும் போதனா முறையே, சமூகப்பணிக் கல்வியில் கையாளப்படுகின்றது.

An educational ideology that recognizes students as being responsible, self-directing, and motivated to learn and share from their accumulated life experiences. This model views adult learning as being more effective when students experience direct and relevant application of their developing problem-solving skills.
