alcohol withdrawal

Symptoms in one who suffers alcohol dependence following cessation or reduction in drinking, including some, but not necessarily all of the following: tremor (“the shakes”), nausea, depression and anxiety, irritability, hypersensitivity to environmental stimuli, weakness, tachycardia, sweating, agitated behavior, delusion, and withdrawal delirium (delirium tremens [DTs]).
