செவிலியரின் மேற்பார்வையில் மருந்து கொடுக்கப்படும் போது மாத்திரைகளை விழுங்காமல் தாடையில் ஒதுக்கிக்கொண்டு விழுங்கியது போன்று ஏமாற்றுதல். இந்த ஏமாற்றுத்தனத்தைப் பல காரணங்களுக்காக நோயாளிகள் செய்யலாம். மருந்தின் பக்க விளைவிலிருந்து விடுபட நினைக்கலாம் அல்லது அம் மாத்திரைகளை வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக துஷ்பிரயோகம் செய்ய நினைக்கலாம்.

The practice is widespread because many patients dislike the effect or side effects of medications or wish to create their own side effects.
