ஒன்றின் (நிறுவனம் அல்லது அதன் செயல்பாடுகள்) மீது தொடுக்கப்படும் விமர்சனத்தை, எதிர்ப்பைக் குறைக்கவோ, நீர்த்துபோக வைக்கவோ, எதிர்ப்பாளர்களையே அந்நிறுவன செயல்பாட்டுக் குழுவில் இணைத்துக்கொள்வது. அக்குழுவோடு இணைந்த பின் அக்குழுவின் செயல்பாடுகளைப் பொதுவெளியில் அவரால் விமர்சிக்க இயலாது போய்விடும். ஏற்கனவே எதிர்ப்பாளர்களால் தூண்டப்பட்ட உறுப்பினர்களும், ஆதரவற்று நிறுவனத்தில் தனித்து விடப்பட எதிர்ப்பும், விமர்சனமும் நீர்த்துப் போகும்.

The term is also used to indicate any election of a person or group into another group's membership.
