In interviews, an intervention procedure in which the social worker tells the client how to do something and follows with suggestions for improving the activity until optimal performance is reached. This procedure is used primarily with people who are poorly functioning, undersocialized, lacking in currently needed social skills, or with people who have not responded to nondirective interventions.
