ஒவ்வொரு மனிதரும் தாங்கள் பெரும் தகவல்களின் (அறிதல்கள்) தன்மையை உணர்ந்து, புரிந்து, தொகுத்து, முறைபடுத்தி, மதிப்பீடு செய்து, பிரச்சனைகளைத் தீர்க்க கையாளும் செயல்முறைகள். இது மனிதருக்கு மனிதர் வேறுபடும். சிலர் தகவல்களை அதன் பல்வேறு கூறுகளாக பகுப்பாய்வு (analytical) செய்து புரிந்து கொள்வார்கள். சிலர் தாங்கள் பெரும் தவல்களின் பல்வேறு கூறுகளை ஒருங்கிணைத்து முழுமையாக்கிப் (global approaches) புரிந்து கொள்வார்கள்.

There are individual differences in how people perceive, remember, understand, and solve problems that influence the way information is organized and processed. For example, some people are more analytical and others have more-global approaches to their environments.
