Colonial Development and Welfare Acts

A body of legislation enacted by the British Parliament, primarily in the first half of the 20th century, to establish, organize, finance, and administer the social welfare and economic programs of the British colonies. As most of the colonies became independent nations, they have tended to continue using the structure of these programs as the basis of their current social welfare systems.
