இதை மாற்ற இயலா எண்ணத்தால் தன் இச்சைக்கு மாறாகச் (obsessive–compulsive disorder) செயல்படுவது என்றும் சொல்லலாம். இதை இப்படித்தான் செய்யவேண்டும், எதையும் கச்சிதமாகச் செய்யவேண்டும் என்ற பிடிவாத குணம், உணர்வுகளை இதமாகவோ, இளகிய தன்மையுடனோ வெளிப்படுத்த இயலாமை, அற்பமான நடைமுறைகள் மற்றும் விதிகளை அப்படியே பின்பற்ற முயலல், எதிலும் சம்பிரதாயமாக நடந்துகொள்ளல், தீர்மானங்களை முன்னுரிமைப்படுத்துவதில் திறனின்மை போன்ற பல்வேறு கூறுகள் இந்தச் சீர்கேட்டில் அடங்கும்.

A type of personality disorder that has all or many of the following characteristics: perfectionist behavior, insistence on having others submit to a certain way of doing things, limited ability to express warm feelings or tenderness, preoccupation with trivial details and rules, stinginess, stiff formality in relationships, and poor ability to prioritize and make decisions. This disorder is also known as obsessive–compulsive disorder.
