சில நடவடிக்கைகள், செயல்பாடுகள் எதிர்பார்த்த விளைவைத் தரவில்லையாதலால் அதைத் தொடரவேண்டாம் என்பதைச் சொல்லும் அறிகுறி. மருத்துவ மனையில் சிகிச்சை பெறும் குழந்தையின் உடலில் சிராய்ப்புகளோ, காயங்களோ இருந்தால் அந்தக் குழந்தையை அந்த மருத்துவமனைப் பராமரிப்பிலிருந்து விடுவிக்க வேண்டுமென்று பொருள்.
