A dissociative disorder characterized by an individual's sudden travel away from familiar places, inability to recall past events, and sometimes by the assumption of a new identity. The condition is not the result of general medical conditions, substance abuse, age-related cognitive decline, or malingering. This term replaces psychogenic fugue.
