ஒரு நபரிடத்தில் ஒன்றிற்கும் மேற்பட்ட வியாதிகள் உடனிருக்கும் தன்மை. ஒரு வியாதிக்கு வழங்கப்படும் சிகிச்சை இன்னொரு வியாதியின் தன்மையைத் தீவிரப்படுத்தி நிலைமையை மோசமாக்கலாம். மனநோயுள்ளவர்களுக்கு போதைப் பழக்கமோ, மதுப்பழக்கமோ இருக்கும் பட்சத்தில் அதை இருநோய்க்குறிகள் என்கின்றனர். இருநோய்க்குறிகள் சிகிச்சை முறையை சிக்கல் நிறைந்ததாக மாற்றிவிடும்.
