employment programs

Programs at the federal, state, and local government levels and in private industry designed to secure more jobs for more people and to ensure that those jobs include decent wages and benefits and equal opportunities. In the United States, in addition to the Unemployment Insurance program, these programs have included the provisions of the Job Training Partnership Act, the Job Corps, and the Neighborhood Youth Corps.
