Fifth Amendment rights

Protections under the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guaranteeing that no citizen may be compelled to give self-incriminating testimony for a court or congressional committee. This amendment also protects the individual from being tried a second time for the same crime (double jeopardy) or being deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.
