Fizdale, Ruth

(1908–1994) A social work practitioner, administrator, and scholar, Fizdale developed the fee-for-service system now used in public and private social agencies and by private practitioners. She encouraged efforts to provide social work services to more-affluent clients and led the pro-fession's movement toward more accountability, licensing, peer review, and competence certification.
