முதியவர்கள் எந்தமாதிரியான மனச் சீர்கேட்டிற்கு உள்ளாகியிருக்கின்றார்கள் என்பதை அறிய நடத்தப்படும் பேட்டி. இது மற்ற வயதுள்ளவர்களிடம் பேட்டி காணும் முறை போலில்லாமல், இச்சந்திப்புக்கள் சுருக்கமாகவும், சந்திப்பின் நோக்கத்தைத் தெளிவுபடுத்தியும், எதற்காக சில கேள்விகள் கேட்கப்படுகின்றது என்பதைத் தெரிவித்தும் நடத்தப்படவேண்டும்.

A systematic procedure for assessing the possibility and type of mental deterioration in an older person. The procedure is nearly the same as in any other mental status exam, except that the interviewer tends to use shorter, more-frequent sessions, a more formal and gentle manner, and is careful to assure the older person about why such questions are being asked.
