Human Service Employees Registration and Voter Education Fund, an organization founded in 1983 to encourage people to vote and to make the voting process more accessible. The organization's supporters, most of whom have backgrounds in the social services, achieve their objectives through educating people about how to register; by bringing registration facilities to the potential voters; and by placing legal or political pressures against boards of elections that make it difficult for some groups, especially racial and ethnic groups, to register.
