A sexual disorder in which the partner in coitus or sexual foreplay is unable to maintain the physical characteristics of arousal. Once labeled as impotence in men, there is failure to achieve or maintain an erection through to completion of coitus. Once described as "frigidity" in women, there is failure to achieve or maintain the lubrication— swelling response through to completion of the sexual act.
