தனிநபர்களிடமோ அல்லது குழுக்களிடமோ அல்லது ஆய்வுகளிலோ (கணக்கெடுப்பு / கருத்தாய்வுகள்) தகவல்களை / தரவுகளை சேகரிக்க பயன்படுத்தப்ப்டும் கேள்விப்பட்டியல். இந்தக் கேள்விப்பட்டியல் பலவகைப்பட்டது. தகவலளிப்பவர் ஆம் அல்லது இல்லை என்று பதில் சொல்லும்படியாகவோ, தகவலளிப்பவர் கருத்துக்களுக்கோ, கற்பனைக்கோ இடமாளிக்காமல் முன்கூட்டியே வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட சாத்தியமான பதில்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும்படியாகவோ (closed end questions), தகவலளிப்பவர் தன்னுடைய கருத்தைக் கூற இடமாளிக்கும் வகையில் (open ended questions) கேள்வித்தாள்கள் வடிவமைக்கப்ப்ட்டிருக்கும். பேட்டியெடுப்பவர் கேள்விகளைக் கேட்ககேட்க பெறப்படும் பதில்களைச் சொற்பிறழாமல் அப்படிக்கப்படியே (verbatim) பதிவு செய்து கொள்வது நடைமுறை.

A tool used especially in fact-gathering conferences or surveys to guide the interviewer toward the information that is sought. For example, schedules may consist of specific yes—no or closed-ended questions that are to be read to the respondent, or they may consist of open-ended questions that stimulate the respondents to answer in their own words. The interviewer often reads the questions to the respondent and records the answers verbatim in the space provided.
