Social services agencies in U.S. and Canadian communities with significant Jewish populations that serve indigent members of the Jewish community; resettle immigrants and help them become more acculturated to American and Canadian customs; respond to international crises; fight anti-Semitism; and help Jewish people and other members of the community with social, health, and psychological problems. These agencies include Jewish Community Centers, Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Associations (YM—YWHA), the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), Jewish Family Service, Jewish vocational service agencies, Jewish-affiliated hospitals, geriatric facilities, hospice, Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith, and many other organizations. Most of these agencies are united within the Jewish Communal Service Association (ICSA).
