Jewish Communal Service Association (JCSA)

The primary professional association for social workers and other professionals employed by Jewish communal agencies. Founded in 1899 as the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, the JCSA provides a forum for the issues of interest to the affiliated agencies, sponsors conferences and publications, and publishes the quarterly scholarly Journal of Jewish Communal Service. The professional associations affiliated with it include the Association of Jewish Center Professionals, the Association of Jewish Community Organization Personnel, the Association of Jewish Community Relations Workers, the Association of Jewish Vocational Service Professionals, the Council for Jewish Edu- cation, the Jewish Family and Children's Professional Association, and the North American Association of Jewish Homes and Housing for the Aging.
