Joint Commission on Interprofessional Affairs (JCIA)

An informal organization of elected leaders and staff of the American Nurses Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). The commission meets three times a year to share relevant information and plan joint strategies to deal with a wide variety of mental health issues, ranging from relationships with the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to encouraging and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration at the state and local levels.
