அமெரிக்க அரசின் தொழிலாளர் துறை, 1913 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டது. அமெரிக்கத் தொழிலாளர்களின் பணிச் சூழல், தொழிலாளர்களின் பணியிடப் பாதுகாப்பு, தொழிலாளர்களுக்கான உத்தரவாதமான பணிப்பலன்கள், வேலைவாய்ப்பு விரிவாக்கம், தொழிலாளர்களைப் பாதிக்கும் நிலைபற்றி தகவல் சேகரித்தல் மற்றும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளல் போன்ற கடமைகளைச் செய்து வருகின்றது. இந்தத் துறையின் கீழ் பணியிடப் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் ஆரோக்கியத்திற்கான நிறுவனம் (Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), தொழிலாளர் மேலாண்மைத் திட்ட நிறுவனம் (Labor Management Programs Services Administration), தொழிலாளர் புள்ளியியல் நிறுவனம் (Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), வேலைவாய்ப்பு மற்றும் பயிற்சி நிறுவனம் (Employment and Training Administration) போன்ற நிறுவனங்களும் செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

The cabinet-level federal department created in 1913 to improve working conditions and worker safety and welfare, to secure employee benefits, to enhance employment opportunities, and to acquire and disseminate information about social conditions affecting employment. Its major offices and organizations include the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Employment and Training Administration, the Job Corps, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
