ராபர்ட் பி லேன் என்னும் பேராசிரியரால் சமூகப்பணியின் சமுதாயத் துறை (சமூக அமைப்பாக்கல்) பாடத்தின் பொருத்தப்பாட்டைப் பற்றி சமர்பிக்கப்பட்ட ஆய்வறிக்கை. சமுதாயப்பணித் துறையின் தொழில்சார் நிபுணத்துவத்தின் தன்மையை எடுத்துக்கூறிய இவ்வறிக்கையின் விளைவாக, சமூகத் தணியாளர் பணி (Case Work) மற்றும் சமூகக் குழுப்பணியுடன் (Social Groupwork) சமுதாயப் பணியும், சமூகப்பணியின் முக்கிய பயிற்சி முறைகளாயின. எடுயர்ட் லிண்டர்மென் மற்றும் ஜெஸ்ஸி ஸ்டெனர் (Eduard C. The study, conducted in 1939 by Robert P. Lane, analyzing the field of community organization and describing it as a professional entity. The report influenced the social work profession to incorporate community organization as one of its three major practice methods, along with social group work and social casework. The report drew on earlier conceptualizations, especially those of Eduard C. Lindeman and Jesse F. Steiner.
