lethality

The degree to which someone or something is capable of causing death. Social workers primarily apply the term to clients who are suicide or homicide risks. For example, a client might be said to have a high degree of suicidal lethality if symptoms include feelings of depression and hopelessness, the recent loss of loved ones, development of a suicide plan, failing health, and deprivation of a supportive family or friends.
