1. ஏதாவதொரு செயலிலோ அல்லது சிந்தனையிலோ மிகையார்வம் காட்டுவது. எ.கா. திருட்டார்வக் கோளாறு (kleptomania), அதீத பாலுறவு வேட்கை (nymphomania), எரியூட்டு வெறி (தீயிடுவதில் ஆர்வம் - pyromania) 2. இருமனக் குழப்பச் சீர்கேடுகளிலும், உடல்ரீதியான மனநோயின் போதும் வருவது போன்ற மனக்கிளர்ச்சி, மிகைப் பரவச நிலை, கவனச் சிதறல், அழுத்தமான பேச்சு, பகட்டுத்தனம் போன்ற அறிகுறிகள். 3. பைத்திய நிலைக்கு ஈடான உளச் செயழிலப்பின் போது ஏற்படும் பரபரப்பு மற்றும் முரட்டு சுபாவம் (வன்முறையில் இறங்குதல்) போன்ற அறிகுறிகள் தென்படும்.
