mathematics disorder

A type of learning disorder in which a student is testably below the average in mathematical skills and in understanding numbers concepts that is expected of others of similar ages, intellectual levels, educational levels, and without physical or neurological problems. For the condition to be diagnosable, it must significantly interfere with the student's academic achievement or activities that require math or calculations skills. Many educators call this disorder dyscalculia. The other major types of learning disorders are reading disorder and disorder of written expression.
