மருத்துவ எச்சரிக்கை என்பது ஒரு நபருக்கு ஆபத்துக்கால மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை அளிக்கும் மருத்துவருக்கோ, முதலுதவி செய்பவருக்கோ, அல்லது வேறுவகையில் உதவ முயல்பவருக்கோ உதவும்படியாக, அவருடைய உடல்நல்ன் எப்படிப்பட்டது, அவருக்கு எந்த மாதிரி சிகிச்சை முறைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட வேண்டும் என்பதை மருத்துவ அடையாளக் குறிச்சொற்களாக்கி காப்பாகவோ, கைவளையாகவோ, சங்கிலியாகவோ அணிந்துகொள்ளும் முறை. இதை 1956 இல் தோற்றுவிக்கப்பட்ட மருத்துவ எச்சரிக்கை அறக்கட்டளை செய்துவருகிறது.

The privately funded national organization that maintains medical records on people who are registered with it and provides emergency medical information about them to health care providers. Medic Alert provides its registrants with special bracelets or other identification so that health care providers are informed about the patient's special needs during crises. For example, a registrant may become unable to communicate that he or she is allergic to certain medications or has other physical conditions that are not readily evident. A 24-hour-a-day telephone switchboard is maintained and accepts collect calls.
