வேளாண்மையில் கிடைக்கும் பருவகால வேலைவாய்ப்பிற்காகச் செல்லும் பெற்றோருடனோ அல்லது பாதுகாவலருடனோ சேர்ந்து இடம் பெயரும் குழந்தைகள். இடம் பெயர்ந்த குழந்தை என்று அமெரிக்கச் சட்டத்தால் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட குழந்தைகள், அந்நாட்டின் ஈடுசெய்யும் கல்வித்திட்டங்களின் (compensatory education programs) பயனைப்பெற உரிமை படைத்தவர்கள். ஒரு குழந்தை ஐந்தாண்டுகளாக இடம் பெயர்ந்திருக்கா விட்டாலும், அக்குழந்தை வாழும் இடத்தில் இடம்பெயர்ந்த குழந்தைகளுக்கான கல்வி வசதி இருக்கும் பட்சத்தில், இக்குழந்தையும் முன்னாள் இடம்பெயர்ந்த குழந்தை என்ற வகையில் அந்த வசதிகளைப் பெறமுடியும்.

A minor who has moved with a parent or guardian seeking seasonal employment in an agricultural activity. Children who are so designated are entitled by U.S. law to compensatory education programs. If the child has not moved within the past five years and currently resides in an area where migratory children are served, the child may be entitled to the same benefits as a "former migratory child."
