வருமான வரி பிடிப்பதற்கு முன்னர் ஒருவருக்கு வேலையின் மூலமாகக் கிடைக்கும் சம்பளம், வேறுவகைகளில் பணமாகக் கிடைக்கும் வட்டி, பங்குகளின் மீது கிடைக்கும் இலாபத்தொகை, ஓய்வூதியத் தொகை, பணமாகக் கிடைக்கும் சமூகப்பதுகாப்பு உதவிகள், பொதுநல உதவிகள், வேலையின்மையால் கிடைக்கும் இழப்புக் காப்பீட்டுத் தொகை போன்றவற்றைக் குறிக்கும். இது ஒருவருடைய சொத்துக்கள் மதிப்பையோ, வேறு முதலீட்டு மதிப்பு உயர்ந்ததையோ, பணமாக வராத வேறுவடிவில் வந்த இதர சலுகைகளையோ குறிக்காது.
