morphological analysis

A problemsolving method used in many organizations in which all possible alternatives to reaching a solution are broadly outlined and then broken into their components for further study and evaluation. Each component is depicted on a grid or three-dimensional cube that has intersecting axes. The most promising alternatives are then evaluated, modified, and developed as solutions.
