விவாகரத்து வழக்கினாலோ, நீதிமன்றத் தீர்ப்பாலோ, குழந்தைப் பாதுகாப்பு நிறுவனங்களாலோ, அல்லது முன்னாள் கணவர் குழந்தையைப் பறித்துச் சென்றதாலோ, தனியாகவோ அல்லது சிறுகுழந்தையுடன் வாழும் தாய்மார்கள் தங்களுக்கென உதவிக்கொள்ள, முக்கிய நகரங்களில் கிளைகளைக் கொண்டிருக்கும் தேசிய அளவிலான தொண்டுநிறுவனம். இவர்கள் தங்களுக்குள் தொடர்புகொண்டு, பரஸ்பரப் பிரச்சனைகளைப் பகிர்ந்துகொண்டும், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் ஆறுதலாயும் இருக்கின்றார்கள்.

A national self-help organization, with chapters in many larger communities, whose members are mothers living separately from one or more of their minor children because of court decisions, intervention by child protection agencies, or child snatching by former spouses. Mothers Without Custody members meet regularly to exchange information and provide mutual support and encouragement.
