National Academy of Practice (NAP)

A professional, scientific, and educational organization, established in 1981 and modeled in part on the National Academy of Sciences, that comprises distinguished practitioners from each of the major health professions, including social work. NAP's goals are to promote excellence in professional practice for the benefit of all people and to provide a forum to which government and society can direct public policy concerns in health care. One of the constituent organizations in NAP is the National Academy of Practice in Social Work.
