அமெரிக்க சமூகப்பணிக் கல்லூரிகளின் கூட்டமைப்பு (American Association of Schools of Social Work (AASSW), முதுகலை சமூகப்பணிப் பட்டத்திற்கு மட்டும் அங்கீகாரம் அளித்த நிலையைக்கண்டு அதிருப்தியடைந்த, இளங்கலையில் சமூகப்பணி பட்டமளித்து வந்த கல்லூரிகள், இளங்கலை சமூகப்பணி பட்டத்தைத் தரமுயர்த்தவும், சான்றழிக்கவும் 1945 ஆம் ஆண்டு தனியாக தேசிய அமைப்பு ஒன்றை ஏற்படுத்தினர். பின்னர் 1952 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதுகலை அங்கீகார நிறுவனமும், இளங்கலை அங்கீகார நிறுவனமும் ஒன்றாக இணைக்கப்பட்டு சமூகப்பணிக் கல்விக்கான ஆட்சிக்குழுவாக (Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) மாறியது.

The social work education organization founded in 1942 to establish standards and to monitor and accredit programs in colleges offering baccalaureate degrees in social work. NASSA grew out of dissatisfaction with the requirement that only schools offering two-year master's degrees in social work could be accredited by the American Association of Schools of Social Work (AASSW). The two organizations, NASSA and AASSW, merged in 1952 to form the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
