ஒருவர் தான் நம்பும் / பின்பற்றும் மதிப்பீடுகள், தார்மீகக் கருத்துக்கள் அடிப்படையில், மனிதர்களை ஏளனமாகவோ, நியாயமற்றோ அல்லது குற்றம் காணுகிற முறையிலோ எடைபோடுதல் கூடாதென்பதும், எதையும் பாரபட்சமற்ற முறையில் அணுகவேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தைக் குறிக்கும் கருத்து. ஒரு சமூகப்பணியாளர் தன்னிடம் வருகின்ற வாடிக்கையாளர் பிரச்சனை எதனடிப்படையில் அமைந்திருந்தாலும், தன்னுடைய விருப்பு, வெறுப்பு, நம்பிக்கைகள், மதிப்பீடுகளிடின் அடிப்படையில் வாடிக்கையாளரின் பிரச்சனைகளை மதிப்பீடு செய்யலாகாது என்பது சமூகப்பணியின் தொழில்நெறி. வாடிக்கையாளர் பற்றிய பாரபட்சமான தீர்மானங்கள், வாடிக்கையாளரின் நடத்தைகளை நிராகரிக்கவே தூண்டும். வாடிக்கையாளரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளல் என்பதற்கும், குற்றத்தைப் பாராட்டாமல் பொறுத்தருளல் என்பதற்கும் மயிரிழை வேற்றுமையே உள்ளது. வாடிக்கையாளரின் குற்ற அல்லது ஆபத்தான நடத்தைகள் பற்றிய எச்சரிக்கையும், அதை அந்தந்த சமூக சட்ட நெறிகளின்படி கையாளத் திட்டமிடுதலும், வாடிக்கையாளரை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளல் என்ற தொழில் நெறியில் அடங்கும்.

A fundamental element in the social worker-client relationship, in which the social worker demonstrates an attitude of tolerance and an unwillingness to censor the client for any actions. The social worker does not suspend judgment but conveys to the client that the working relationship takes precedence over any possible feelings of disapproval. Although affirming the worth of the client, the social worker does not condone criminal or dangerous behavior and, under certain circumstances, may need to take preventive action.
