நார்வே, ஸ்வீடன், பின்லாந்து, டென்மார்க் ஐஸ்லாந்து ஆகிய நாடுகளின் சமூகப் பொருளாதார, கலாச்சார ஒருங்கிணைப்பிற்காக, 1962 ஆம் ஆண்டு உருவாக்கப்பட்ட சர்வதேச அமைப்பு. இந்த நாடுகளின் பிரதம மந்திரிகள், பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்கள், வெளியுறவு அமைச்சர்கள், துறைசார் அமைச்சகங்களின் தேசிய மற்றும் மாநில இயக்குனர்கள், செயலாளர்கள் மற்றும் நிபுணர்களைப் பிரதிநிதிகளாகக் கொண்டு செயல்படும் இந்த அமைப்பின் பரிந்துரைகளை இதில் அங்கம் வகிக்கும் எல்லா நாடுகளும் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு செயல்படும். இந்த அமைப்பின் மூலம் பரஸ்பர சமூகப் பாதுகாப்பு நலன்கள், பொதுத் தொழிலாளர் சந்தை (common labor market), தடையற்ற வணிகம், பொதுவான கடவுச் சீட்டு போன்ற பலநடைமுறைகள் காரிய சாத்தியமாயுள்ளன.

An international organization of Scandinavian nations, including Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland, established by treaty in 1962 to facilitate social, economic, and cultural cooperation. The council is comprised of delegates from each nation, and their recommendations are usually heeded by the member nations. The council has facilitated many laws, including granting reciprocal social security benefits and a common labor market.
