திருமணமாகமல் சேர்ந்து வாழும், உடனுறையும் தம்பதியினர் அல்லது நெருக்கமாக வாழ்ந்த இருவர் பிரிந்து செல்லும் போது, நீதிமன்றம் மூலமாக, திருமணமாகி விவாகரத்து கோரும் தம்பதிகளுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் ஜீவனாம்சம் போன்று வழங்கப்படும் இழப்பீடு.
