அமெரிக்காவின் பல இன அடையாளங்களைக் கொண்ட பூர்வீக இந்தியர்கள், தங்கள் இன அடையாளங்களைக் கடந்து இந்தியர் எனும் ஒற்றை அடையாளமாகத் தங்களை இணைத்துக் கொள்வது. இவர்கள் தாங்கள் வாழுமிடத்தின் அல்லது தங்களின் பாரம்பரிய மரபுகளைப் பேணுவதில் ஆர்வம் கொண்டவர்கள். இவர்கள் தங்களின் பல்வேறு பூர்வீக அடையாளங்களை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டாலும், ஆங்கிலோ-அமெரிக்க அடையாளத்தை பின்பற்றுவதில் தயக்கம் காட்டுகிறார்கள்.

Characteristic of multitribe groups and individuals; an individual whose ancestry belongs to two or more tribes and who seeks identity as an Indian rather than as a member of one tribe. Such people seek to maintain the traditions of all the tribes of their heritage or residential area. Although many Pan-Indians are more accepting of a variety of different tribal traditions, they are less inclined to adopt or accept Anglo-American ways.
