Private voluntary organizations in most larger communities comprised of parents who have experienced difficulties dealing with their children and who provide one another with mutual support. Some organizations of this type help parents deal with the death of their children, including The Compassionate Friends, Parents of Murdered Children, HOPING (Helping Other Parents in Normal Grieving), and SHARE (for pregnancy and infant loss support). Other parent self-help groups focus on dealing with the problems of child rearing, such as National Parents Association, Parents Helping Parents, Parents Without Partners (PWP), ToughLove International, Unwed Parents Anonymous, and Mothers Without Custody.
