அடுத்தவர் செய்யும் செயலைப் பார்க்கத் தூண்டுவதன் மூலம் தன்னாலும் செய்யமுடியும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையை வளர்ப்பது. அடுத்தவர் கொடுக்கும் செயல்விளக்கத்தைப் பார்த்து தன்னாலும் அதேபோன்று செய்ய முடியும் என்ற உணர்வை வளர்த்து அதன்மூலம் நடத்தை மாற்றத்திற்கு வித்திடுவது.

A technique used in behavior therapy and behavior modification in which the client directly observes the social worker or some other person interacting with a feared stimulus without being harmed. The client is then gradually encouraged to interact with the same stimulus without fear of harm.
