மூடப்பட்ட அரங்குகளில் இருக்கும்போது பொருட்கள் எரிவதால் உண்டாகும் புகை அல்லது பீடி சிகரெட் புகைப்பவர்களால் உண்டாகும் புகையைச் சுவாசிக்க / உள்ளிலுக்க நேருதல். புகைபிடிப்பவர்களைப் போன்றே, புகையைத் தன்விருப்பற்று சுவாசிக்கக் கட்டாயமேற்பட்டவர்களுக்கும் ஒவ்வாமை காரணமாக, நுரையீரல் புற்று நோயும், நுரையீரலின் காற்றுப்பைகளில் காற்று சேர்ந்து மூச்சுத் திணரும் அறிகுறிகள் தோன்றும்.
