postnuptial agreement

A written notice by a husband and wife who disclose all their assets and state that, in the event of death or divorce, they will seek no more of the other's assets than the amount specified. Such agreements usually are validated only when both parties have had separate legal counsel in the preparation of the agreement. See also prenuptial agreement and separation agreement.
