தங்களுடைய சமூக அந்தஸ்தாலும், நிலைப்பாட்டாலும், பொருளாதாரம் மற்றும் பிற வளங்களை எளிதில் திரட்டக்கூடிய ஆற்றலாலும், ஒரு சமுதாயத்தின் சார்பாக முடிவுகளை எடுக்கும் செல்வாக்குப் பெற்றவர்களை ஆதிக்கக் குழுக்கள் எனலாம். இவர்கள் பெரும்பாலும் அரசியல் வாதிகளாகவோ, செல்வந்தர்களாகவோ, தொழிலதிபர்களாகவோ, நிர்வாகிகளாகவோ, மத குருமார்களாகவோ அல்லது பாரம்பரியத் தலைவர்களாகவோ இருப்பர்.

Power group members usually include political leaders, financial and industrial executives, members of the clergy, and local indigenous leaders.
