ஒரு அமெரிக்கக் குடிமகன் தன்னுடைய 65 வயதில் ஓய்வு பெரும்போது, அவருக்கு மாதாமாதம் வழங்க சமூகப் பாதுகாப்புத் துறை நிர்ணயித்திருக்கும் தொகையின் அளவு. இதை முழுமையான 100 % சதவீதம் எனக்கொண்டால், 65 வயதிற்கு முன்பு பணி ஓய்வு பெறுபவருக்குக் குறைந்த தொகையும், 65 வயது கடந்தும் பணியில் தொடர்பவர்களுக்கு 100 சதவீதத்திற்கும் அதிகமாகவும் வழங்கப்படும்.

The term used by the Social Security Administration (SSA) for the full monthly amount of money one receives when beginning to collect social security benefits at age 65. If the beneficiary retires earlier than 65, the PIA is lower; if retirement is delayed past 65, the benefits are more than 100 percent of the PIA.
