ஒரு மாநிலம், பிராந்தியம் அல்லது மாவட்ட எல்லைகளை அதன் மக்கள் தொகைக்கு ஏற்ப, அரசியல் பிரதிநிதித்துவம் தர மறுசீரமைப்பது. gerrymandering என்றால் தகாத முறையில் பொய்யாக்குதல் - தங்களுக்கு ஆதரவானவர்கள் அதிகமாகவும், எதிர்ப்பாளர்கள் குறைவாகவும் இருக்கும்படியாகத் தேர்தல் தொகுதியின் எல்லைகளைச் சூழ்ச்சியாகப் பிரிப்பது.
