நடத்தை மாற்றுச் சிகிச்சையில் விருப்பமற்ற நடத்தையைத் தடை செய்ய / கட்டுப்படுத்த அந்த நடத்தைக்கு நேரெதிரான நடத்தையை ஊக்குவிப்பது. உடலியக்க மருத்துவத்தில் தசைகளுக்குப் பயிற்சி தர ஒரு தசையை இறுக்கும் போது மற்றொரு தசை தன்னிச்சையாகத் தளரும் எற்றெதிர் செயலால் தசைகள் வலுடையும் நிலை. இணைக்கினையான இந்தத் தடைகள் நடத்தை மாற்றுச் சிகிச்சை முறையிலும் கையாளப்படுகிறது.

A technique used in behavior modification in which suppression of an undesired response or behavior is accomplished by associating it with a dominant antagonistic response. For example, in systematic desensitization, relaxation responses are paired with anxiety responses until the anxiety is inhibited. The technique was developed by Joseph Wolpe.
