Governmental and nongovernment organizations (NGOs) to provide emergency provisions and longterm developmental support for individuals and communities that are in need because of war, famine, natural and environmental disaster, civil crisis, and economic declines. International and national governments provide support through publicly supported aid programs. NGOs, funded by individuals, philanthropies, and fund-raising drives, include CARE, the International Red Cross, OXFAM, Americares Foundation, and Humanity International.
