தேடல் ஆணை என்பது குற்றமிழைத்ததாகக் கருதப்படும் நபரின் உடமைகளையோ அல்லது இடத்தையோ சோதனையிட்டு, குற்றத் தொடர்பான ஆதாரங்களை நீதிமன்றத்தில் சமர்பிக்க, காவல் துறைக்கு நீதிமன்றம் கொடுக்கும் உத்தரவு.

An order by a judge authorizing specified law officers to examine a subject's premises or possessions and to bring any evidence found to the court. Search warrants can be issued only if there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed and must explicitly describe the place to be searched and the items or persons to be seized.
